MASTER PLAN

More about the Master Plan

The forward-looking Master Plan has been developed in close collaboration with Old Boy (1985) Paul Hotston (phorm architecture + design) and Urbicus urban planner Mark Kierpal (1988).

Architecture and design

My intention within the Master Plan has been to consolidate and strengthen the College’s established traditions, gathered over the past 80 years, whilst anticipating future growth, to guide the trajectory of future education facilities and creation of student focused spaces across the campus.

Importantly, the Master Plan enshrines the College’s renowned and envied ‘green belt’ of sporting facilities and associated landscape by identifying new build sites within the existing upper campus framework.

The Master Plan includes key elements such as Tower Walk, the New Primary Precinct, and new college assembly building.

It has been a rare privilege to be part of such a significant and positive moment in Ashgrove’s proud and living history.

Urban planning and approvals

In line with the strategic plan, my focus has been to achieve a workable and pragmatic Master Plan for the College. A Master Plan that delivers excellent facilities to support and empower students, parents, teachers, and the broader community.

By taking a long-term view, Urbicus has been able to secure development approval for Stage 1 of the Master Plan – and likely further stages – so the College does not need to seek approval for each project individually. The saving is estimated as around $250K over the next few years.

I am delighted to be able give back to my school.
